Review time again?

Struggling to review your designers and developers in 150 words or less?

Not sure how to explain to -your- manager what these guys actually do?

We’ve got a wee suggestion to help you paint the full picture. Because sometimes words just ain’t enough.

Go Draw Something

Lido Cinema, fun.

OMGCAKE

May 11th, 2012 by Comments »

This delectable rose scented delight, swathed in billows of cloud-like cream, toffee and petals – is the reason everybody should have a friend who is a pâtissier. Every year on her birthday Linda is made a special cake by her patissier AND every year she shares it with us! That’s double-lucky!

Keep Calm and Eat Cake

May 10th, 2012 by Comments »

We haven’t had a cake-based blog for a while. I bet you thought we were on some sort of hideous cake free diet, but no – we are still all about cake. Phew. Today’s cake was provided by Hendrik (chocolately), Peter (healthy-ish) and the first prize winning small goods award goes to Simon and his wife Stef who made Fair trade cookies with proper Fair Trade ingredients  – in honour of our Oxfam Fair Trade Morning Tea. We also had some very delicious little Whoopie pies made by the lovely Lucy . So relax. Don’t panic. It’s still happy-cake-time as usual around here.

Happy Birthday Gen Y !!

The oldest of the Gen Y kids are turning 30 this year. Congratulations! What can we can expect from them as they move into management positions? Should we be worried or excited? Here’s an interesting article from Australian Institute of Management  – with some great input from our very own Mike Carden on what to expect from the Gen Y kids coming up the ladder. Management Today – May 2012

where you get to know us better by asking us strange, but family friendly questions

starring Sarah Bazzano, a  Support Technician in the Sausalito Office

Have you had stitches? Where:  Oddly, I never have…nor have I ever broken a bone.

What are you reading (or playing) right now:  Does my guitar count for “playing”? I am learning to play acoustic guitar…yay!  There are about 10 books that I am reading currently and I have lofty goals to finish them all this year!

If you had to busk, what 3 songs would you sing: Ha ha! I had to look up ‘busk’ online as I wasn’t quite sure what it was.  The song would be ‘Rapper’s Delight by the SugarHill Gang’…and maybe just that one over and over since it is such a catchy tune and I love it.

Perfect meal.  Perfect setting. Perfect company:  The ‘Bazzano Family Pasta’ (passed down from many generations)…tons of candles & preferably under the stars… my boyfriend (currently serving in the military in Afghanistan).

The city you’d most like to visit, that you haven’t already been to:  I have been very blessed to travel to many places, but still have not been to Rome, Italy.  Would love to go…

What jewellery (or body art) are you wearing right now:  Earrings, a belly ring (yes, I do have my belly button pierced!), 3 toe rings (that I always wear)

A family recipe:  Sorry, the ‘Bazzano Family Pasta’ is a sacred secret.  But I am happy to have anyone over to share it with.

If you had to sit next to an animal on a long haul flight, what would it be:   A very quiet little turtle…in a cage.

Glee – Yes or No: Never seen it…so no.

Cats or Dogs: Both!

Tea or Coffee:  Both…coffee in the morning, tea during the day.

Who would play you in the film of your life:  My awesome friend, Heather, who is an amazing actress (and her imitation of me is hilarious!)

How many languages can you hold a conversation in:  Does ‘pig latin’ count (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pig_Latin) ?   ;)   Seriously though, currently only English…but I plan to learn another soon.

And, finally, a Haiku about how you spend your spare time:   Love spending time with friends and family, laughing, picnics in the wine country or wine-tasting, taking long walks or runs in the beautiful parks and scenic areas near home…and music HAS to be incorporated into everything!

Check out my perfect pinmanship!

You do good stuff, you want people to know about it: whether it’s a really cunning hat you just knitted, or a kickass pitch that won a giant account. Work or play, everyone wants some kind of recognition for a job well done.

If you’re crafty, you’re probably already using Pinterest to show off your creations – but how do you celebrate good work on the job? And can you actually use tools like Pinterest in HR-friendly ways? We might have a couple of ideas…

WINTER IS COMING!

May 4th, 2012 by Comments »

A balmy 20 degrees in Los Angeles today at the CSOD offices (or 68 F in American money). A ridiculously cold 6 degrees in Auckland this morning, and it’s only Autumn. (42F!). On the good side, we are now in the perfect environment to have pet wolves.

Who's going to go out to get the coffee?
